Belgium collaborating in joint call

The Belgian Federal Science Policy Office (BELSPO) has launched a collaborative opportunity between its "Society and Future" research programme and the ERA-AGE 2 "Active and Healthy Ageing Across the Life Course" joint call. This will enable Belgian researchers to participate in the ERA-AGE 2 joint call, financed by BELSPO.

Belgian applicants to the "Demographic challenge and social cohesion" strand of the BELSPO call are also eligible to submit their research proposal as part of a consortium applying to the ERA-AGE 2 joint call.

If both applications are successful additional funding of €30000 Euros will be provided to the Belgian partner to cover the networking costs of participation in the ERA-AGE 2 project (including travel and functioning costs). This funding is available to a single project.

Please take note of the deadlines for the "Society and Future" call:

• Expressions of interest must be made by 29 August 2011, 3pm Brussels time
• Research proposals should be submitted by 14 September 2011, 3pm Brussels time
