The Research centre for studies in Human Motricity includes studies regarding the role of physical activity on improvement of quality of life specific to ageing using physical exercises. We organise programmes of physical activity that are facile. This contributes to the reduction of the social and financial cost of care programmes and to prevent the decrease in health of older people. A multi-disciplinary team participates in research. RCSHM has been created to contribute to the research of functional aspects in ageing, the impact of physical activity and to obtain social and medical supports for this activity. Director of the research centre is Conf. Dr. Ligia Rusu, sport medicine physician . RCSHM is a part of the University of Craiova.

Development of movement study, application of physical exercises in a prophylactic way and therapeutic effects in older people, biomechanic and functional assessment of older people, assessment of the role of kinetic programmes in reducing the development of biological and functional changes in ageing. To approach the relationships between biological studies, macro and micro assesments and the effects of physical exercises in older people. To approach the relationships between the results of pharmacological support in ageing and physical activity.
