Description
The National Center for Basic and Clinical Research in Osteoporosis and Bone Biology (CNCCBO) is designated to function as a center for teaching and research , basic and clinic, in osteoporosis and bone biology, that offer international competitive facilities to the romanian academic community.
Aims
-Create research facilities for projects in osteoporosis and related fields, at the university and postuniversity levels (doctoral and postdoctoral thesis, graduated diploma, others); -Create teaching programs for physicians, researchers, technical laboratory personnel; -Develop basic research projects regarding the pathogenesis of osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases; -Develop and implement a coherent strategy for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis; -Create an osteoporosis data base, accessed by Internet, connected to the national and international network; -Expert counseling in the development of national and international strategies for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis; -Technical and methodological assistance for the osteoporosis laboratories from the whole country; -Inform periodically the academic community regarding its activities and facilities (website, journal, bulletin).
