Particularly in longitudinal population studies, information of genetic, immunological, geriatric, psychological and sociological analyses are combined in an epidemiological framework. Several projects in social gerontology employ qualitative approaches such as ethnography and discourse analyses. Disciplines also include health economics and health care research.
