Type of institution
Multidisciplinary research group consisted of nurses, epidemiologists, computer specialists, documentalists, statistics, translators and doctors.
Among other interests, since 2003 the group develops a research line in the aged care field through the Redes Temática en Investigación en Personas mayores (RIMARED and RETICEF), including topics of study such as security and evidence, nursing interventions in aged care (falls prevention, urinary incontinence and pressure ulcers), care models, caregivers of community-dwelling patients, home care and continuity of care, evaluation of health care results and frailty related to the ageing proccess.
Main research areas
1.Clinical practice in aged care based on evidence.
2.Systematic reviews about aged care interventions.
3. Identifiy, elaborate and validate clinical practice guidelines/protocols about most prevalent health care problems in ageing: urinary incontinence, falls, pressure ulcers, cognitive impairment and nutrition, among others.
