Summary of key aims
13 groups are involved in research on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntingdon and prion diseases at the University of Munich, the Max-Planck Institute for Biochemistry, and the Max-Planck Institiute for Psychiatry. All projects focus on moloecular mechanisms of human neurodegenrative disorders using tissue culture systmens or animal models such as transgenic mice, zebrafish and caenorhabditis elegans.
