Summary of key aims
The Funding Initiative "Public Health Research" was on the one hand aimed at strengthening the structures of public health research at some universities in Germany and on the other hand aimed at promoting scientific projects to answer questions about etiology and avoidance of relevant diseases and health promoting as well as about the health care system itself. One focus of many others in the funding measure was the elderly and their health-related problems.
