Summary of key aims

Basic as well als applied research on all aspects of aging as a social phenomenon and problem, including theory construction. Research on the changes in the image of the elderly; development and trends in the Austrian intergenerational relationships in the family and in the society; health status of the aged Austrian population and its determinants; participation and engagement of the elderly in voluntary activites; report on the status of the aged in Austria; analysis of the future consequences of demographic aging of the Austrian society and its structural implications
