Summary of key aims
The IRCCS Neurological Institute "C. Mondino" of Pavia is a research and care center for neurological disorders where research activities - particularly on neurodegenerative diseases - are constantly conducted, mainly within funding programmes of the Italian Ministry of Health. In this frame, a research line has been dedicated - throughout the past 10 years - to the investigation of normal and, in particular, pathological aging, as well as dementia of various natures, with particular reference to Alzheimer's disease.
The main scope of this program, which has included numerous projects of different types, funded under different funding programs of the Italian Ministry of Health, is to investigate the neurological, cognitive, neurophysiological, behavioural and neurobiological aspects of these conditions, as well as to define organizational care models of excellence for these patients.
