Summary of key aims

Purpose is to strengthen the research collaboration in the institute and with other institutes in Finland and abroad. Other purpose is to utilize the existing datasets, which already give the possibility to examine topics related to the healthy ageing.
The programme aims to 1) examine the determinants of healthy ageing, and 2) to test the methods for maintaining independence and good functional capasity among the ageing population.
The research themes( taken from the call for proposals) can be
- the development of health status and funtional capasity , and their sosioeconomical, lifestyle related and genetic determinants,
- the interventions aiming to increase physical, mental and sosial capasity along the ageing
