Summary of key aims
The Growing Older Programme had two specific objectives:
-To generate new knowledge about the factors that contribute towards extending quality life based on a coordinated multi-disciplinary social science programme of research.
-To contribute towards the development of policy and practice affecting the quality of life of older people.
There were just over 200 outline applications, 50 of which were invited to submit full proposals. Of these 24 were funded following peer review.
