Biography

I am an expert approved by the Latvian Council of Science in the Republic of Latvia, in Medicine.

Born in 1970, education- medicine (Tartu University, 1994), occupational therapy (Latvian Medical Academy, 1996), doctoral degree in medicine (Riga Stradins University, 2010). Main research themes: functional abilities in old age, aspects of home in old age, healthy ageing and quality of life in old age. Since year 1996 I teach students at Riga Stradins University, Rehabilitation faculty, in several study subjects, including gerontology and geriatrics. I also work as visiting researcher at the Centre for Ageing and Supportive Environments (CASE), Lund University (2010-2011).
