Biography
Undergraduate degree in psychology from University of Lisbon. PhD in clinical psychology obtained in the University of North Texas with a Fulbright scholarship. Current position as a scientific researcher in National School of Public Health, Carlos III Institute of Health, Spain. Principal investigator of several publicly-funded grants on quality of life in old age, dementia and residence care. Author of almost 30 papers on peer-review journals. Evaluator of scientific proposal for the Spanish National Agency of Evaluation (ANEP), from the ministry of science. Peer-reviewer for several scientific journals. Fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. Recipient of several scientific awards, scholarships and grants. Research topics: quality of life, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, patient reported outcomes, scale development and validation, psychometrics, Rasch analysis, caregiver burden, public health.
